The Department of Aerospace Materials and Production is responsible for teaching those disciplines related to the knowledge of materials and production systems within the aeronautical and aerospace industry. These disciplines start with the study of chemical composition of materials, identify the relationship between their structure and properties, optimise the production cycle, which includes manufacturing processes and their organisation, to meet the use requirements while in service. Therefore, the Department activity is accompanied by research on specific subjects related to the aforementioned disciplines.
